ATTENTION
Some of the pictures and stories shown on the following pages may be disturbing. In many of these cases, the stories are tragic. People have been seriously injured and in some instances, killed. Those involved frequently have suffered very significant, sometimes permanent injuries. The patients, their families, and their friends have all suffered
as a result of these events.
We often receive calls from patients or their families asking us about what happened during an incident. The following photos and stories are provided, similar to a newspaper account, for educational and informational purposes. It is our hope that through education, tragic incidents such as these can be prevented.
Every GCVFD member that responded to the calls send their thoughts and condolences
to everyone affected by the incidents.

Station 2 Alerted For The MVA

On December 18th at 1210 Hrs the Great Cacapon Fire Company was dispatched for the Injury as a result of the Vehicle Accident at 2919 Detour Road. Surburban 2 responded with 2 at 12:14hrs and the Chief. While enroute dispatch advised Chief 2 that a man had came across the accident and had taken the women to his residence about a half mile from the accident unknown of the condition of the vehicle or if in the road way chief 2 advised dispatch to have the rescue engine respond and check the scene. Rescue Engine 2 responded at 12:17hrs with 3 and the Captain. Units arrived on scene to find no hazards scene was turned over to law enforcement all co. 2 units cleared at 12:51hrs

Station 2 Runs Mutual to the Springs

On December 17th at 1328 Hrs the Great Cacapon Fire Company was dispatched for the Vehicle Accident assist the Berkeley Springs Fire Company to the area of 1400 Fairview Drive. Rescue Engine 2 went enroute at 1330 Hrs with a crew of 3. Rescue Engine 2 arrived on scene at 1345 Hrs. Rescue Engine 2's crew assisted with traffic control.
All units returned o service at 1358 Hrs.

Busy Day For The 2 House Runs

The First Call of the day was an alert for the Commercial Building Fire. Rescue Engine 2 went enroute, While enroute the call was cancelled and Rescue Engine 2 returned to service.

The Second of the day was for the Commercial Fire Alarm. The call was cancelled and all units were returned to service. |
| The Third Call of the day was an alert at 1245 Hrs Structure Box 155 for the Residential Structure Fire with Entrapment at 1275 Jim West Road. Rescue Engine 2 with 3 and the Chief as well as Tanker 2 with 2 went enroute at 1258 Hrs, While enroute Chief 1 advised of smoke showing from the area, Engine 51 (Hancock Fire) was the first arriving unit on the scene advising of the Structure on the ground burning, Engine 51 further advised Morgan they had laid a line up the driveway have the next arriving unit hook up. Rescue Engine 2 dropped off their manpower at the scene and continued to Potomac Road to setup a draft site. Tanker 2 was involved in water supply operations by shuttling 2 loads of water to the scene. 1 victim was discovered in the remnants of the structure. Other units responding include Engine 11, Tanker 12, Tanker 320, Engine 53 (Hancock Fire), Tanker 43 (Orleans Fire), Engine 20 (Reynolds Store Fire). Engine 32 (Paw Paw Fire) transferred to Station 2. All units cleared the scene at 1614 Hrs. |

2 House Runs Mutual Fully Involved

On December 9th at 1050 Hrs the Great Cacapon Fire Company was dispatched for the Structure Mutual Box assist the South Morgan Fire Company to the rear of 113 Round Top Lane. Tanker 22 and Tanker 2 went enroute, While enroute Chief 7 arrived on the scene to find a Fully Involved structure with 2 vehicles involved. Due to the location a different access route had to be determined, upon further investigation it was determined the fire to be at 342 Rosewood Lane. Other responding units included Ambulance 73, Engine 11, Tanker 12, Wagon 16 & Engine 16 (Gainesboro Fire), Engine 53, Engine 51 & Utility 5 (Hancock Fire), Engine 20 (Reynolds Store Fire). Engine 32 (Paw Paw) Transferred to station 2 for the fill in. |

Station 2 Alerted For The Single Vehicle MVA With Rollover

| On December 5th at 1607 Hrs the Great Cacapon fire company was dispatched for the single vehicle MVA with rollover in the 4000 Block Detour Road. Engine 21 with the Chief went enroute, BLS 2 along with Medic 72 (Morgan County EMS) also responded. Upon arriving units found a single passenger car that had rolled due to the snow conditions. All patients were out of the vehicle. |
